ARTICLE DRAFT
Amped met up with Newcomers Before Last Night in their local town of Darlington to find out how they were coping with their newfound fans and fame and what they were planning to do with their success...
So boys, How does it feel to be finaly making it to the top of the rock charts at such a young age?
Jordan: Its actually amazing, it feels kind of unreal in a way.
Rhys: Yeah, This time last year id of never thought we’d be were we are right now, its immense.
So tell us what inspires you boys to write your music?
Jed: Usually we’re just messing around with our instruments and we will just hear something that sounds mint, so we kind of develop on it and put it into our music.
Jordan: But for lyrics we just use situations, cliche things really, but we kind of give them a twist. On our new album weve developed abit more matured lyrics, and i think the fans can really relate to them!
Sounds great! so about this new album, how about giving Amped a little insight to it?
Ben: Well, there is alot more upbeat music in it from our EP. Jordan put more synth in it so its much more dancier..
Rhys: ..But theres still a lot of heavy stuff in it
Mixing dance and screamo, sounds different, how do you think your fans will feel about it?Jordan:Well some songs are more dancy than others, and some are more heavy than others so maybe hopefully we will broaden our audience abit by mixing the two together.
Scott: Even if they dont like it, its not the end of the world, we’l just learn from it, because to be honest we’re only young and we’re lucky to be where we are but we’ve still got a lot of different crazy stuff to try.
Thats sweet, thats sweet. So come on then, how did you manage to get this far, your mothers must be proud!?
Jed: My mother still rings me every morning to remind me to change my underwear!
Scott:And do you listen to her? no you dont. But back to the question, alot of hard work, playing in alot of working mens clubs. Blood, sweat and tears, but it was all worth it.
Jordan: We could of got signed alot sooner, we had record companys on the phone by the time we were fifteen but we turned them all down because we wanted to do it our own way, we wanted to be independant
Thats the best way to do it! So, what about college?
Rhys: Ha! We dropped out of college to get jobs to focus on the band, like scott said, it was all blood sweat and tears.
Ben: Yeah, we knew we were taking a risk at the time but it felt so right, so we just went for it. I’m glad we did to be honest.
Jordan: But kids! stay in school and work hard.
Nice words of wisdom there, But that is a risk, but it has deffinatly paid off hasnt it, so what about your fans?
Jed: We love the fans, they are the reason we are here, and were we are now.
Jordan: Thats one of the main things i look forward to after a gig, meeting them, they are all so loving and crazy, its mint!
Rhys:I love it when im on the stage and i look down and they are singing to the songs that we wrote! and they know all of the words. That feeling is amazing!
Well Boys i’ll have to let you get back on with your recording, Thankyou for talking to us and we hope to hear more from you soon
Jordan: Oh, you will definatly be hearing more from us and thankyou for talking to us!

I have written my article like this because I wanted to relate to my audience and my audience reseach told me that people my age prefer interviews as aposed to a document or 'fact file' because this will help the audience and fans to relate to the band more and in a way it is all facts because its coming from there mouths directly. It is also less formal and not so long so its more entertaining to read.
